Accounts
Accounts are the foundation of your financial tracking in Plutus. Each account represents a real-world financial account.
Account Types
Section titled “Account Types”Plutus supports several account types:
- Checking — Your everyday spending account
- Savings — Savings and investment accounts
- Credit Card — Credit card accounts (balances shown as negative)
- Cash — Cash on hand
- Other — Any other account type
Adding an Account
Section titled “Adding an Account”- Navigate to Accounts in the sidebar
- Click Add Account
- Fill in the account details:
- Name — A descriptive name (e.g., “Main Checking”)
- Type — Select the account type
- Starting Balance — The current balance when you begin tracking
- Click Save
Account Details
Section titled “Account Details”Click on any account to view its details page, which shows:
- Current balance and balance history chart
- Recent transactions for that account
- Account-specific filters and search
Editing and Archiving
Section titled “Editing and Archiving”To edit an account’s details, click the settings icon on the account detail page. You can also archive accounts that are no longer active — archived accounts are hidden from the main view but their transactions are preserved.
