Budgets

Budgets help you plan your spending by setting limits for each category on a monthly basis.

Creating a Budget

1. Navigate to Budget in the sidebar
2. You’ll see your categories listed with columns for each month
3. Click on a cell to set the budgeted amount for that category and month
4. The budget auto-saves as you type

Understanding the Budget View

Each budget row shows:

• Category name — The spending category
• Budgeted — The amount you planned to spend
• Spent — How much you’ve actually spent
• Available — The remaining budget (budgeted minus spent)

Color indicators help you quickly spot overspending:

• Green — Under budget
• Yellow — Approaching the limit
• Red — Over budget

Budget Periods

Budgets are organized by month. You can navigate between months to plan ahead or review past budgets.

Tips

• Start by tracking your spending for a month before setting budgets
• Be realistic with your budget amounts
• Review and adjust your budgets monthly based on actual spending patterns
