Categories
Categories help you classify your transactions and track spending by type.
Default Categories
Section titled “Default Categories”Plutus comes with a set of default categories to get you started, including common ones like Groceries, Rent, Utilities, and Entertainment.
Creating Categories
Section titled “Creating Categories”- Navigate to Categories in the sidebar
- Click Add Category
- Enter a name and optionally choose an icon and color
- Click Save
Category Groups
Section titled “Category Groups”Categories can be organized into groups for better structure. For example, you might have a “Housing” group containing “Rent”, “Utilities”, and “Home Insurance” categories.
Editing Categories
Section titled “Editing Categories”Click on any category to edit its name, icon, color, or group assignment. Changes apply to all existing transactions in that category.
Merging and Deleting
Section titled “Merging and Deleting”If you need to consolidate categories, you can merge one category into another. All transactions from the source category will be reassigned to the target category.
