Transactions

Transactions are the core of your financial data in Plutus. Every inflow and outflow is recorded as a transaction.

  1. Navigate to Transactions in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Transaction or use the keyboard shortcut
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Date — When the transaction occurred
    • Account — Which account it belongs to
    • Amount — The transaction amount
    • Payee — Who you paid or received money from
    • Category — How to categorize the transaction
    • Notes — Optional additional details
  4. Click Save

Click on any transaction to open it for editing. You can modify any field and save your changes.

Use the filter bar at the top of the transactions page to narrow down your view:

  • Date range — Filter by time period
  • Account — Show transactions from specific accounts
  • Category — Filter by spending category
  • Search — Find transactions by payee name or notes

You can import transactions from your bank. See Import & Export for details on supported formats.
