Rollover & Targets

Rollover Modes

Each category has a rollover mode that controls what happens to remaining budget at month end:

• Carry Forward — Surplus or deficit carries over to the next month
• Release to Pool — Surplus or deficit adjusts the overall Ready to Assign total
• Reset — Clean slate each month; no rollover

Set rollover mode per category in category settings, or override it for a specific month.

Category Targets

Set a target amount and type for each category:

• Budget target — Aim to budget this amount each month
• Refill target — Always refill to this amount regardless of rollover

Targets provide visual guidance when allocating budgets.

When To Use Each Mode

• Use Carry Forward for categories that naturally accumulate over time
• Use Release to Pool when you want unused money to flow back into your overall budget
• Use Reset for categories that should start fresh each month
